Soft Tops / Foam Surf Board Rentals
Do you already kind of know how to surf, but not interested in taking a lesson? If you just want to get out there and catch some waves on your own, we have a full lineup of Stormblade Soft top surfboards for rent. Our 7 foot SSR is the perfect board rental for children under 100 lbs to catch waves on their own without having to wrestle a massive longboard into the lineup. For the bigger or lesser experienced adult, our 9 foot SSR surfboard is a perfect rental for you. It is longer and more narrow, allowing you to practice your first turning maneuvers, while still being nice and stable. For everyone in between, our 8 footers are a great surf rental option to catch waves easily, and still stable for you to stand up and glide on our warm water waves here in San Diego.
Fiberglass / EPS / Hard Top Surf Board Rentals
Are you an intermediate-advanced surfer in town for the day, week, or month? Then you have to check out our quiver of shortboards, step ups, and mid length surfboards.
- The 5’10” Baker Model by Vernor is the owner’s favorite board of all time. This board is a twin fin that is ideal for waves from 3-6 feet. This skate-like surfboard rental will be your favorite summer board for loose and fun surfing that has the capability to carve on rail and throw airs.
- The Pyzel Shadow (6’1”) is a high performance shortboard used by the likes of John John Florence, Tyler Wright, and Alana Blanchard. This board offers surprising paddle-ability, stability, and performance that you can’t get from all shortboards on the market today. This board rental performs best at our point breaks on bigger days with wide open faces.
- “The Gun” is a board that has been in our family for nearly 20 years, and surfed from San Diego, CA to Lincoln City, Oregon. Shaped by Phil Becker (may the legend rest in peace), this pin tailed, glassed in fins thruster is the rental of your dreams for the biggest days of the year. Incredibly thick, this board will catch any waves from 2-12 feet with ease, and hold a rail on the biggest days, if you can handle it. Dave Johnson has been shaping boards in California for nearly 50 years. While this board is no longer pretty to look at, this swallow-tailed 7’0” funshape is a great all around board to catch waves on smaller days, or used to get into waves sooner on the bigger days.
Body Board / Boogie Board Rentals
Don’t worry, spongers are still allowed in the water here! Boogie boarding rentals are the perfect way to get out in the water when it’s smaller, or if you have some little ones that want to get in the ocean for the first time. We always recommend getting children into the ocean incrementally. Starting with just playing in the water and smaller waves, the boogie board is the next logical step before attempting to surf on two feet.
